Ahora mismo debería estar haciendo otras cosas: tengo una presentación sobre la cultura española que preparar, una clase de teatro y un discursito para mañana, pero en lugar de eso estoy tratando de relajarme con un poco de música y escribiendo aquí para vosotros.
Como últimamente me estoy tomando lo de aprender bengali muy en serio, me he puesto a escuchar música en bengali y he descubierto no solo a aquel grupo Bhoomi del que ya puse una canción, sino a un cantante de Bangladesh que me parece absolutamente genial, capaz de mezclarlo todo: tiene canciones que me parecen melodías tradicionales bengalis de tema religioso, canciones que me parecen jazz, otras rock y otras tipo Manu Chao...es estupendo.
Y no puedo resistirme a compartirlo aquí con vosotros. Su nombre artístico es "Arnob" que significa "mar", y aunque el tipo que subió sus canciones a Grooveshark no tienen ni idea de como escribir el nombre, al menos ha puesto las canciones, así que no puedo sino estarle agradecida, porque sino, ¿cómo las compartiría con vosotros?

I would post songs in Moore on my blog, but the only ones I've heard around here are simple, monotonous, and about Jesus. Not that I'm against religious or Christian music, since so much great classical music was composed for church or was inspired by scenes in the bible. But once I learned how to say, "Help me Jesus" and "I love God" in Moore, there wasn't a lot left to learn from the songs.
Sounds like the Bengali music is a lot more fulfilling, and varied! Who knows, there might be good Moore music out there, but I haven't found it yet. Thanks for sharing these!
Many of the songs here, the traditional ones, also deal with god. The first fay I arrived to Kolkata there were Tagore's songs on loudspeakers on the streets (last year, 2011, was the 150 aniversary of...well, either his death or his birth, I don't remember anymore), and bengalis love singing. Everytime there is a cultural event at the university the head of my department asks me to sing a song in Spanish. I may have started putting sugar in my coffee, but I'm not going to start singing outside Japanese karaokes just that easily...
But apart from those, there's a nice musical scene that I really like here. And songs help me learn the language!
